Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Role overview

Lead an engineering team responsible for improving how customers discover, activate, and expand their use of a multi-part travel platform. The role combines people leadership and technical delivery with close partnership across product, data, and design, using experimentation and customer insights to improve adoption and time to value.

Responsibilities

- Coach and develop a high-performing team, setting clear expectations for technical quality, accountability, and execution. - Guide engineering projects from planning through release, using AI-assisted practices while maintaining standards for security, scalability, and reliability. - Improve team workflows, tools, and agile practices to support efficient, high-quality delivery. - Build experimentation into development so the team can test ideas, learn from results, and refine product experiences. - Coordinate priorities with product, data, design, and business partners, explaining technical trade-offs clearly. - Use customer and product data to guide decisions that improve engagement, adoption, and marketplace growth.

Requirements

- At least five years of engineering experience, including at least five years managing engineering teams. - Record of leading teams and delivering complex software projects. - Strong leadership, decision-making, and prioritization skills, with a focus on team performance and delivery. - Technical grounding in some of Node.js, Ruby on Rails, React, AWS services such as Lambda or Terraform, and Datadog. - Familiarity with agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban and a continuous improvement mindset. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

Benefits and work setup

The role offers a base salary range of $225,000–$265,000, equity, and potentially an annual bonus. Work arrangements follow a hybrid hub model, with office-based or remote options depending on the role and location.
