Tech Lead Python

Role overview A technology services firm is hiring a Tech Lead, Python to design and develop scalable backend services while leading a globally distributed team of Python developers. The role combines hands-on engineering with people leadership, coordinating delivery against a client roadmap. It is a remote position based in Brazil.

Responsibilities - Provide technical leadership to a globally distributed team, setting quality standards and engineering best practices. - Coordinate team activities, report progress to client stakeholders, and work closely with product owners, architects, and QA. - Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based backend services and microservices-based architectures. - Build and integrate RESTful APIs with internal and external systems, including SOAP and XML-based web services where required. - Integrate systems using event-driven frameworks such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimisation, and support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.

Requirements - Prior experience in a technical leadership role. - Strong written and spoken English communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Solid proficiency in Python 3.x development. - Hands-on experience with API and integration development, including RESTful services using JSON payloads and exposure to SOAP or XML-based web services. - Practical experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI, and with both SQL and NoSQL databases. - Good working knowledge of Linux environments, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience using AI code-assistant tools to improve developer productivity.

Nice to have - Telecom domain experience in OSS or BSS systems and exposure to TM Forum APIs. - Cloud experience on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Container experience with Docker and Kubernetes. - Kafka or RabbitMQ event-driven integration experience. - Order management systems, network provisioning and orchestration, and CRM integration exposure.
