Associate Data Scientist

Role overview Support data engineering and data science initiatives that turn microfinance data into practical business recommendations. The role combines analytical work, machine learning and statistical modeling, product exploration, and communication with business and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities - Analyze microfinance data and translate findings into business recommendations. - Present analytical results and recommendations to executive teams. - Help implement recommendations and assess their performance. - Design, build, and deploy machine learning models and statistical optimizations. - Assess product ideas, define MVP scope, and contribute to technical development. - Work with data engineering and data science teams on departmental planning and execution.

Requirements - Honours-level degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or another STEM discipline. - At least one year of experience presenting analytics to business teams in a client-facing setting. - At least one year of experience performing analysis, producing findings, and implementing improvements. - Fundamental understanding of machine learning and statistics. - Experience working with data in Python; PySpark is a plus. - Experience with data visualization and clear communication with senior stakeholders.

Nice to have A master’s degree and practical machine learning experience are advantageous.
