Software Engineer

Role overview

A fully remote software engineering role on a small founding team building an automation platform that connects high-stakes finance workflows. The product is already live in advanced beta with real customers, and the engineer will help carry it from that stage into full production scale, owning major architectural pieces and shaping engineering standards alongside the founders.

Responsibilities

- Design and build backend services and frontend interfaces from the ground up as the platform expands - Take ownership of significant architectural components that need to scale with growing customer demand - Steer the product through its transition from advanced beta into production-ready operation - Write clean, maintainable, scalable code primarily in Java with Spring Boot on the backend and React on the frontend - Partner closely with founders in a high-autonomy setting, weighing in on technical direction and product decisions - Define and evolve engineering best practices as the team grows

Requirements

- Strong grasp of application architecture and system design principles - Demonstrated history of shipping production systems end to end - Comfort balancing disciplined engineering quality with the pace of a startup environment - Ownership mentality with prior experience in zero-to-one or early-stage product settings - Sharp problem-solving skills and sound technical judgment when working through ambiguity - Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Python, React, or comparable technologies
