Role overview
This Staff Risk Analyst role focuses on credit risk analytics, decision science, and policy optimization within a fintech organization offering real-time earned wage access. The position uses analytics, experimentation, and forecasting to shape member credit limit policy, retention, and risk exposure decisions. It partners closely with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate analysis into shipped policy and product changes.
Responsibilities
- Own policy optimization for member credit limits, balancing retention, churn, and risk exposure - Design, run, and evaluate policy experiments and A/B tests, translating results into concrete policy changes - Own forecasting and reporting infrastructure that keeps risk and portfolio performance visible to stakeholders - Proactively explore data to identify opportunities to refine risk strategies and surface emerging trends - Define performance metrics and build reports and dashboards to monitor policy and portfolio performance - Partner with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Operations to ship policy and product changes - Monitor deployed risk models in production, flagging drift or degradation that should inform retraining or redesign - Partner with Product to design risk policy with customer experience in mind alongside risk and business outcomes
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in credit risk analytics, decision science, or risk strategy, ideally within fintech or consumer financial products - Expert-level SQL skills and comfort with Python for analysis and experimentation - Working knowledge of fintech risk fundamentals, including risk strategy development, limit or max policy, and portfolio monitoring - Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests or policy experiments, translating results into recommendations - Comfort with forecasting or curve-based modeling (e.g., cash flow, loss, or usage forecasts) - Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations

Benefits and work setup
- Base salary range: $173,928 – $245,773, plus equity and benefits - Remote role within the U.S.; team members local to the Mountain View area work in-office two days a week
