Solutions Engineer (Remote - Montreal)

Role overview This is a remote pre-sales engineering role focused on observability and application performance monitoring technology. The position partners closely with sales teams to demonstrate technical value, run proof-of-concept engagements, and guide prospective customers through solution evaluations. The role is fully remote but requires residence in or near the Montreal or Quebec City region, with up to 30% travel expected.

Responsibilities - Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to technical audiences and C-level executives at trade shows, marketing events, and customer meetings - Lead the technical evaluation portion of proof-of-concept engagements, including cloud architecture discussions, both onsite and remote - Partner with account executives to surface new opportunities and expand usage within existing customer accounts - Provide technical guidance through discovery, solution evaluation, and proposal stages of the sales cycle - Respond to RFIs and RFPs, and tailor template presentations to address each customer's specific environment - Serve as a trusted technical advisor for channel partners and relay customer feedback to product management

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience - Approximately 5 years of experience in observability or application performance management, including modern stacks such as containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines - Hands-on familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and at least one of Java, .NET, PHP, Go, or Node.js, plus relational databases - Advanced working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems - Experience with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices, plus at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - Working knowledge of automation tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform

Nice to have - Background in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting capacity, with strong presentation and value-articulation skills - Comfort juggling multiple concurrent opportunities and supporting several sellers at once
