Senior AWS Cloud & DevOps Consultant

Role overview

A senior, hands-on consulting assignment within a group-wide platform consolidation that is replacing locally implemented lottery operations systems with a single shared ecosystem across multiple markets. The consultant works in a client-facing capacity, shaping solution architecture for cloud integrations, modernizing delivery pipelines, and establishing observability, then communicating the rationale to both technical engineers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

- Design and deliver integrations between a major CRM platform and AWS using synchronous APIs, event-driven flows on Amazon EventBridge, and file-based batch pipelines on Amazon S3. - Lead the transition of GitLab CI/CD from a GitFlow model to a trunk-based deployment and propagation pattern aligned with group standards. - Strengthen repository and pipeline security by integrating and tuning Snyk scanning within the CI/CD workflows. - Build observability across AWS and the CRM environment, primarily on Amazon CloudWatch, covering distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerting. - Provide lightweight Google Cloud enablement for data teams using Google Analytics and BigQuery. - Propose solution architecture end to end, then present the design, trade-offs, and justification to engineering, CRM, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

- Senior-level consulting experience with AWS, including integrations, CI/CD, and observability. - Hands-on proficiency with Amazon EventBridge, Amazon S3, GitLab CI/CD, and Amazon CloudWatch. - Ability to shape a solution on own initiative and explain it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Self-driven working style with strong communication skills. - Demonstrated success operating in client-facing consulting engagements and working across multiple internal stakeholder groups.

Nice to have

- Google Cloud experience covering projects, IAM, basic infrastructure, and BigQuery. - CRM platform integration experience, for example Platform Events, Change Data Capture, REST, or Bulk APIs. - Familiarity with Snyk or comparable SCA and SAST tooling embedded in CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to AWS X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, or external observability platforms such as Datadog or Grafana. - Infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation. - AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, or DevOps Engineer Professional. - Background on large multi-country or multi-brand platform consolidation programmes.
