Staff DevOps Engineer

Role overview A hospitality revenue management platform is hiring a Staff DevOps Engineer to design and operate the AWS infrastructure behind its suite of pricing and analytics products used by hotels, resorts, and casinos worldwide. The role combines architecture ownership, security hardening, on-call responsibility, and the chance to shape how AI gets woven into DevOps and SRE workflows.

Responsibilities

- Design and build scalable, secure, highly available AWS infrastructure with uptime and reliability as the primary goal - Partner with developers on architecture decisions to improve the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of services and applications - Tackle vulnerabilities early and raise the bar on cybersecurity readiness across the platform - Serve on a weekly on-call rotation, troubleshoot customer-impacting incidents, and lead Root Cause Analyses that prevent repeat issues - Build the internal tools and automation other engineers rely on daily, and mentor DevOps engineers across the company - Help bring AI into DevOps and SRE workflows as the team redesigns how each role operates with AI

Requirements

- 7+ years in an Operations, DevOps, or SRE role with real system design and architecture experience - Hands-on AWS experience across IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail, including multi-account management and SSO - Engineer-level knowledge of networking, security, and load balancing fundamentals - Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform in a multi-user infrastructure environment - Experience with CI/CD and build or deploy automation tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, or GitOps - Experience running enterprise monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog - Track record of resolving complex on-call incidents and driving RCAs to durable fixes - Comfort reading Java, Ruby, Bash or Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript

Nice to have

- Layer 7 load balancing experience - Container orchestration experience with ECS or EKS - Chef or Puppet configuration management experience - SOC2 compliance experience - Familiarity with the broader stack: Java, Python, NoSQL, MongoDB, Postgres, React, Terraform or Terragrunt, Chef, DataDog, and Prometheus
