Cloud Ops Engineer | ELN

Role overview Support an electronic lab notebook platform by building and operating AWS-based infrastructure that powers multiple scientific software products. Work as part of a Cloud Operations team alongside engineering, security, and DevOps colleagues to keep services reliable, secure, and easy to deploy.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable AWS infrastructure spanning multiple products and services. - Build infrastructure-as-code, automation, and self-service tooling to lift developer productivity and operational efficiency. - Partner with engineering, security, and DevOps peers to apply cloud and infrastructure best practices. - Contribute to observability, monitoring, and incident response so services stay resilient. - Apply security best practices to infrastructure and operational processes, helping protect sensitive data and support compliance. - Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to shared engineering practices.

Requirements - Around 4+ years of experience operating cloud infrastructure and production services, ideally on AWS. - Strong scripting and automation skills in Python (required), with exposure to PowerShell or Bash. - Hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows environments and automating workloads on AWS. - Familiarity with at least one configuration management tool such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. - Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, pipelines, and Agile/DevOps workflows. - Solid grasp of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, and firewalls, plus comfort with serverless patterns such as AWS Lambda and API Gateway.

Nice to have - Exposure to .NET, Ruby, Java, or PowerShell alongside Python. - Experience supporting distributed, highly available applications on AWS.
