Data Infrastructure Engineer-Spain

Role overview

Build and operate the data platform that supports product, engineering and analytics teams. The work covers streaming and batch data flows, cloud infrastructure, reliability and security, as well as tools that help teams find and use trusted data independently.

Responsibilities - Design and run scalable systems for data ingestion, transformation, storage and serving, using Kafka and Avro, Airflow and Redshift. - Manage secure, reproducible cloud environments with infrastructure as code and sensible cost controls. - Own reliability practices for critical data systems, including service objectives, runbooks and alerting. - Protect sensitive data with access controls, encryption, secrets management and retention policies. - Investigate incidents, lead root-cause analysis and make preventative improvements. - Improve cataloging, lineage, ownership and data quality, and build documentation and self-service workflows.

Requirements - At least two years of experience in data platform engineering or scalable software systems. - Experience with Kafka and Avro schema design, serialization and schema evolution. - Production experience with Redshift and Airflow, including modeling and performance tuning. - Cloud and DevOps experience, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code and Kubernetes. - Familiarity with data lakes and open table formats. - Ability to monitor systems, respond to incidents and debug pipeline failures, with care for data privacy, access and secrets. - Clear communication with both technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to have - Experience with dbt.
