Principal Machine Learning Scientist

Role overview

Set the research direction for machine learning initiatives and lead complex projects from strategy through practical application. The role combines advanced algorithm development, research program management, collaboration with industry stakeholders, and leadership of research teams.

Responsibilities - Lead impactful machine learning research projects and guide the development of algorithms and research methods. - Shape long-term research priorities and turn strategic plans into well-managed initiatives. - Oversee multiple projects and teams, improving workflows, resource allocation, and execution. - Work with cross-functional colleagues and external partners to identify industry challenges and apply research to real-world problems. - Mentor researchers, support their professional development, and build a culture of knowledge-sharing and innovation. - Contribute to the wider research community through external engagement and thought leadership.

Requirements - 12–15 or more years of relevant machine learning research experience. - A record of impactful research and leadership on large-scale initiatives. - Experience setting research direction and guiding teams toward significant advances. - Ability to develop and execute a long-term research strategy. - Evidence of contributions to the research community, such as publications, conference presentations, or keynotes. - Strong collaboration skills and experience applying machine learning to industry problems.

Nice to have - Experience improving research operations and workflows. - Program management experience overseeing complex, multi-project initiatives.
