About this role
Role overview Join a networking-focused engineering team as a senior engineer working on the control plane behind a managed DNS product. The role centers on building and operating APIs that customers depend on, owning parts of the service end-to-end, and partnering across the networking organization to evolve a reliable, high-performance platform.
Responsibilities - Design, build, test, and optimize new services and tooling that run at scale and address performance and monitoring challenges. - Collaborate with neighboring networking teams to shape the next generation of products and services for a developer community. - Maintain and improve existing product offerings, proposing creative fixes for recurring pain points. - Strengthen tooling and processes used to ship robust, mission-critical parts of the ecosystem. - Contribute to architectural best practices and help the team adopt sound development standards. - Work with a stack that includes Go, Consul, Kafka, SQL, Chef, Git, Jira, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Lightstep, Docker, Kubernetes, and DNS.
Requirements - Experience designing and developing full-stack applications backed by databases and APIs. - Track record of leading work across multiple teams to define API contracts. - Hands-on experience deploying and operating Linux (Ubuntu) virtual and bare-metal hosts. - Proficiency in Go and writing unit tests. - Familiarity with designing and developing high-performance systems. - Some exposure to DNS and the networking stack, or a strong willingness to learn, plus experience with cloud development, containerization, virtualization, and CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to have - Building distributed, high-demand systems with gRPC. - Working knowledge of Temporal and Kafka. - A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
