Role overview
Manage and improve Linux server environments, helping keep applications available and systems healthy. The work combines hands-on administration, basic automation, cloud operations, and monitoring, with room to build skills in infrastructure tools.
Responsibilities
- Deploy Linux operating systems and install or configure server software. - Review application logs and system journals to investigate issues. - Write simple scripts and configure scheduled tasks for routine operations. - Set up network settings, port forwarding, and resource monitoring. - Use AWS CLI to manage EC2 instances and respond to capacity concerns. - Learn and apply new tools by following technical documentation.
Requirements
- Experience administering Linux systems and setting up servers. - Familiarity with server automation and command-line tools such as `systemctl`, `journalctl`, and standard text utilities. - Experience with AWS or another cloud platform; Azure experience is also relevant. - Ability to troubleshoot independently, learn from documentation, and develop professionally.
Nice to have
- Basic GitLab CI/CD pipeline experience and ability to build Docker images. - Familiarity with Debian- or Ubuntu-based systems and/or CentOS or Red Hat systems. - Knowledge of Cloudflare configuration, such as security settings and redirects. - Kubernetes experience.
