About this role
Role overview Translate customer needs and proposed warehouse software solutions into a detailed, agreed scope that development teams can deliver. This role carries solution definition from presales through implementation, connecting operational discovery, estimates, specifications, integrations, and ongoing design decisions for a warehouse execution system.
Responsibilities - Expand initial solution designs into detailed specifications and firm estimates, documenting deliverables, assumptions, and committed effort. - Coordinate the handoff from presales, identifying scope gaps and risks before they affect delivery. - Lead customer design workshops and conduct onsite discovery of processes, material flows, exceptions, and existing systems. - Maintain the specification with development leads as the design evolves; manage project ceremonies and the backlog. - Define integrations with warehouse or enterprise systems and third-party equipment, including data mappings, transaction flows, and error handling. - Specify infrastructure and network needs, and coordinate interfaces between the software and controls teams.
Requirements - Eight or more years in software development, systems analysis, solution design, or technical delivery for warehouse execution, warehouse control, warehouse management, or other industrial software. - Technical bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering; industrial engineering or equivalent experience may also fit. - Experience writing and defending functional or integration specifications that development teams use to build software. - Understanding of warehouse automation and the role of execution software between business systems and equipment controls. - Hands-on integration experience with APIs, messaging, flat files, or EDI, and confidence estimating scope and documenting assumptions. - Agile or Scrum experience, including backlog management, plus strong communication and independent project execution.
Nice to have - Familiarity with Jira or Azure DevOps, office and diagramming tools, SQL, or log review.
Benefits and work setup - Customer-site travel may reach 50% for discovery, workshops, reviews, and commissioning support. - The source describes flexible time off, health benefits, a retirement plan with a stated employer match, discretionary profit sharing, and flexibility in how work is carried out.
