About this role
Role overview Lead the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of commercial analytics capabilities for a late-stage biopharmaceutical organization. This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and external partners, turning complex healthcare data into insights that shape leadership decisions and improve commercial effectiveness across launches and in-line brands. The position functions as a hands-on analytics leader and trusted strategic partner rather than a formal people manager.
Responsibilities - Own the roadmap, requirements, design, delivery, validation, and ongoing enhancement of assigned commercial analytics capabilities. - Convert complex business questions into analytical approaches using claims, real-world data, CRM, patient services, market access, and other approved commercial data sources. - Develop and optimize SQL queries and analytical transformations to produce reliable datasets, automate workflows, reconcile results, and enable scalable reporting. - Lead complex analytics workstreams by establishing project plans and governance, coordinating dependencies, managing trade-offs, and reporting progress, risks, and recommendations to leadership. - Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, data vendors, and consulting partners on data acquisition, integration, warehousing, and production delivery while owning business requirements and quality acceptance. - Define and enhance KPIs, analytical processes, model governance, data-quality controls, documentation, lineage, and repeatable reporting standards, and perform HCP/HCO, site-of-care, segmentation, patient-flow, brand, and forecast-support analytics.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. - Minimum five years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience in data analytics, business intelligence, commercial insights, advanced analytics, or a closely related field. - Hands-on experience with large, complex healthcare and commercial datasets, including claims, RWD, CRM, patient-level, HCP/HCO, patient services, or payer and access data. - Strong Power BI experience covering data modeling, DAX, Power Query, visualization, and report design. - Advanced SQL and Excel skills, plus familiarity with relational or cloud data warehouses and ETL or ELT concepts. - Demonstrated ability to independently own analytics projects from requirements through stakeholder adoption, with experience coordinating internal stakeholders, data teams, vendors, or consulting partners.
Nice to have - Pharmaceutical launch, specialty-product, commercial operations, market access, field analytics, or forecasting-support experience. - Familiarity with Veeva CRM, Veeva Nitro, OpenData, IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure SQL.
Benefits and work setup - Competitive base compensation with potential bonus and equity eligibility. - 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents. - 401(k) plan with company match and vesting shortly after the start date. - Flexible time off, generous parental leave, and additional fringe perks. - Travel required based on business needs. - Listed starting base pay range of $135,000–$150,000 USD.
