Role overview Join a remote engineering team as a Software Engineering Intern focused on building infrastructure for secure AI agents. The role centers on developing an Agent Gateway and creating integrations that connect AI agents to enterprise applications, APIs, and data sources through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This is a 3–6 month internship based in the United States with the potential to convert into a full-time software engineering position based on performance.
Responsibilities - Build and improve Agent Gateway features that provide secure access to APIs and MCP-based tools. - Develop MCP tools and integrations enabling AI agents to retrieve information and perform authorized actions across enterprise applications and services. - Contribute to authentication, authorization, credential handling, and audit logging components. - Write automated tests, troubleshoot integration issues, and improve reliability and error handling. - Create sample applications, demos, and documentation to help developers get started with the platform. - Collaborate with the engineering team to take scoped features from design through implementation and code review.
Requirements - Programming ability in at least one language, demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, open-source contributions, or prior work experience. - Familiarity with HTTP, APIs, and basic backend development concepts. - Comfort using Git, debugging code, and writing tests. - Curiosity about AI agents, security, and how enterprise systems work. - Clear communication skills, willingness to ask questions, and the ability to follow through on a project.
Nice to have - Exposure to MCP, LLM APIs, agent frameworks, OAuth/OIDC, Docker, or cloud platforms. - Experience integrating with enterprise applications such as CRM and ERP systems, including SAP.
