Role overview
Lead engineering while remaining a hands-on contributor, taking ownership of important product areas and shipping alongside a small team. The role focuses on improving how software is built and tested, including agentic AI workflows, platform capabilities, enterprise integrations, and infrastructure. You’ll also help shape team practices and work directly with technical customers.
Responsibilities
- Build and guide AI-powered scientific workflows that use platform plugins and integrations as tools. - Develop automated testing across unit, system, plugin, stress, and browser scenarios, with AI-assisted debugging and CI/CD integration. - Lead platform work such as cross-application integration, eventing, analytics, and high-performance computation. - Deliver enterprise integrations, including data and model connectivity and dashboard migration tools. - Improve deployments, containerized development environments, and observability across the software stack. - Strengthen code review, planning, developer onboarding, and the team’s internal knowledge and impact analysis tools.
Requirements
- At least five years as a strong software engineer who still writes code. - Demonstrated experience leading a team; formal management titles are not required. - Hands-on use of autonomous agentic development approaches, such as tool-use systems, development harnesses, or AI-driven testing. - Proficiency in TypeScript or Dart and the ability to learn new languages quickly. - Experience delivering complex software products and taking initiative to solve problems. - Fluent English and strong communication skills for work with technical customers and enterprise teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with life sciences, cheminformatics, or bioinformatics, or strong curiosity about those fields. - Experience designing agentic AI systems or AI-driven testing pipelines. - Background in high-performance computing, scientific computing, or data visualization. - Experience building products from an early stage and working across multiple areas.
