Role overview A data and AI platform company is hiring a Solutions Architect (L5) to lead technical strategy across retail, consumer goods, travel, and hospitality accounts. The role owns end-to-end technical engagement, from discovery through production deployment and consumption growth, and positions the data and AI platform as the foundation of each customer's data strategy. The successful candidate combines deep hands-on technical skill with the strategic communication needed to advise senior architects and engineering leaders.
Responsibilities - Own the end-to-end technical strategy for assigned accounts, from initial discovery through production deployment and consumption growth. - Lead complex architecture discussions, designing scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering, ML and AI, and real-time analytics. - Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customer architects, engineering leads, and directors. - Drive technical wins in competitive scenarios by demonstrating platform differentiation through custom-built solutions. - Develop and declare an emerging technical specialization, becoming a go-to resource for the team in that domain. - Orchestrate cross-functional resources, including other solutions architects, specialists, and partners, to deliver comprehensive solutions for complex needs. - Influence product direction by providing structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps.
Requirements - 6+ years in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role. - Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to demonstrate live coding, debugging, and solution-building. - Deep expertise in distributed data systems architecture, including scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms. - Proficiency on a unified data and AI platform, with a developing technical specialization in areas such as real-time or streaming, ML and AI, data governance, or migrations. - Experience leading architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders, including whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analysis. - Hands-on experience with production deployments on public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including infrastructure, security, and governance considerations. - Track record of driving platform adoption and consumption growth within accounts. - Excellent communication skills, translating complex architectures into business value for both technical and executive audiences. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have - Industry-recognized certifications in data engineering, ML, or platform specialties. - Experience with competing platforms, with an understanding of the landscape to position against. - Background at a data or AI company or a cloud provider. - Industry domain expertise in areas such as financial services, healthcare, retail, or media.
Benefits and work setup Local pay range of $180,000–$247,500 USD, with total compensation potentially including annual performance bonus and equity. Comprehensive benefits and perks are offered, with specifics varying by region.
