Role overview
A mid-to-senior data engineering role focused on building and shipping lakehouse platforms for external client engagements. The position centers on Databricks-native architecture, governance, and pipeline design that satisfies both auditors and operational engineers. It involves direct client contact and close pairing with senior leadership, with no project manager layer in between.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver Databricks-native lakehouses for client engagements. - Stand up Unity Catalog governance and lineage, and author the supporting runbooks. - Build and maintain production pipelines using Delta Live Tables, Airflow, and dbt. - Pair with senior leadership on diagnostic client calls, taking direct ownership of client communication.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, Airflow, and dbt. - Strong pipeline engineering skills with the ability to produce systems that auditors will accept and engineers can operate day-to-day. - Comfort working directly with clients without a project management buffer. - Based in the UK, either in London or remote within the country.

- Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience. - Background in formal data governance and lineage practices.
