Senior Backend Engineer

Role overview Contribute to the core infrastructure behind a major Ethereum Layer 2 scaling platform that secures billions in value and supports widespread decentralized applications. The senior role centers on distributed systems engineering, performance optimization, and cross-team protocol collaboration.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain the core infrastructure supporting a leading Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution - Solve distributed systems challenges around performance, security, and scalability - Collaborate closely with research, product, and blockchain engineering teams on protocol design - Provide ongoing technical support and engineering guidance to clients and internal stakeholders - Maintain and evolve a developer tool used by external users to run local network nodes

Requirements - Bachelor's degree (or U.S. equivalent) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field - 5+ years designing, developing, and securing blockchain-based backend systems - 3+ years developing backend systems using Go or Rust - 3+ years working on protocols spanning Layer 1 to Layer 2, including efforts to reduce L1 dependencies - 3+ years collaborating with research teams on blockchain and cryptocurrency research
