Role overview A mission-driven healthcare technology team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work full-stack on AI-enabled products that expand access to affordable, high-quality care. This is a remote U.S.-based role contributing across the stack to clinical and consumer-facing experiences that blend software engineering with applied AI.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship full-stack features powering AI-assisted clinical workflows and patient-facing tools. - Develop and maintain frontend components, design systems, and accessible interfaces used across the product. - Build and operate backend services and APIs that integrate large language models, including streaming responses, tool calling, and eval-driven iteration. - Collaborate closely with clinicians, product managers, and fellow engineers to translate healthcare workflows into reliable software. - Contribute to infrastructure choices around durable execution, observability, and secure handling of healthcare data.
Requirements - Significant professional experience as a full-stack engineer shipping production software. - Strong proficiency with modern frontend frameworks, backend service development, and API design. - Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, testing, and code-review best practices. - Track record of building accessible, performant user interfaces. - Comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven, fully remote team with on-camera collaboration.
Nice to have - Experience building or maintaining design systems and component libraries. - Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and screen reader compatibility. - Hands-on LLM application experience including streaming, tool calling, and evaluation-driven iteration. - Experience with Temporal or other durable execution systems. - Prior work with healthcare data formats such as CDA, CCD, or FHIR.
