About this role
Role overview
Shape the next stage of a security product portfolio, starting with customer discovery and market evaluation and continuing through investment decisions, product delivery, launch, and growth. The scope is intentionally open: this leader will assess where to expand, build a clear case for what to pursue, and ensure new capabilities work as part of a unified security platform.
Responsibilities
- Research customer needs, market opportunities, and competitors; recommend which product areas to pursue and in what order. - Develop business cases covering customer problems, market potential, strategic fit, and build, partner, or buy options. - Lead funded initiatives from discovery through requirements, success measures, engineering delivery, launch, and ongoing growth. - Ensure new capabilities integrate with existing detection workflows, data models, alerts, and response processes. - Engage security leaders and practitioners, including design partners, to validate product direction before committing resources. - Partner with marketing, sales, and technology providers on positioning, packaging, launch, and field enablement; grow and lead product managers as the portfolio expands.
Requirements
- At least 10 years in product management or a closely related field, including 5 or more years building security products. - Deep understanding of security operations, including SIEM, detection engineering, incident response, and SOC workflows. - Product experience in at least one area such as security automation and response, identity security, AI or agentic security, or threat detection and response. - A record of taking products from early problem discovery to paid customer use. - Experience evaluating markets, building business cases, and making portfolio decisions with incomplete information. - Ability to lead or mentor product managers, influence cross-functional teams, and communicate technical strategy clearly in writing.
Nice to have
Prior security operations experience; work with security data platforms or pipelines; partner strategy or M&A evaluation; familiarity with OCSF, KQL, or MITRE ATT&CK; or experience with customers in the US and Europe.
Benefits and work setup
The organization is remote-first, with occasional work outside standard hours to support multiple time zones. Compensation varies by location and experience; the stated US base range is $275,000–$310,000, with a corporate bonus program and equity. Benefits include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, paid holidays and time off, fertility support, and a retirement plan.
