Platform Security Engineer

Role overview

As a senior individual contributor, you will help scale security for a platform that handles benefits and personal data across several countries. Working with the developer experience team, you’ll build secure, observable ways to operate production systems and make good security practices straightforward for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

- Create secure-by-default workflows for production operations, with controlled, auditable access. - Shape security priorities, response targets, and automation in the delivery pipeline. - Integrate security checks into CI/CD so findings are caught early and resolved efficiently. - Improve identity, access, and secrets management across cloud and platform infrastructure. - Lead resilience exercises and strengthen recovery playbooks and continuity practices. - Develop edge protections that suit the applications while supporting a smooth user experience.

Requirements

- Senior-level experience in platform security, cloud infrastructure, or a related engineering discipline. - Practical knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. - Experience with CI/CD security scanning, identity and secrets management, and observability tools such as Datadog. - Ability to balance security controls with a usable developer experience and self-service workflows. - English for day-to-day work; Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian are also listed as languages used by the team.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Elixir/Phoenix, PostgreSQL, or React Native with Expo.
