Role overview
A senior product engineering role on a small, AI-forward team building an insurtech platform for management and professional liability. The position blends full-stack engineering with product ownership: translating ambiguous business intent into shipped outcomes, directing AI agents on implementation, and verifying end-to-end results. The work spans Python, Django, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS, with a strong emphasis on customer-facing functionality. The role is remote within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Own problems end-to-end, from user discovery through requirements, build, and adoption.
- Translate business intent into functional and non-functional requirements that engineers and AI agents can execute against.
- Write production-quality code across the stack, including Python, Django, AWS, React, and PostgreSQL.
- Direct AI coding agents, review their output for correctness, edge cases, performance, security, and readability, and refine patterns that improve quality over time.
- Coordinate work across other engineers and agents, managing dependencies without micromanaging.
- Verify end-to-end results, monitor production services, participate in support rotations, and iterate until outcomes measurably move.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building production web applications across the full stack.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of shipped products, including non-functional concerns such as auth, failure handling, monitoring, and documentation.
- Proficiency developing alongside AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex) and a drive to stay current with AI-assisted practices.
- Experience gathering requirements directly from users, customers, and partner teams and turning ambiguous intent into actionable specifications.
