Lead Instructor: Data Center Technician

About this role
Role overview Lead live, virtual instruction for adult learners preparing for data center technician and infrastructure roles. Deliver technical lessons to groups ranging from roughly 30 to 300 learners, maintain an engaging and supportive online classroom, and work with program staff to improve the learning experience. The scheduled program runs from January 11 through April 30, 2027, with lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Responsibilities - Prepare and lead scheduled virtual classes for learners with varied backgrounds and experience levels. - Explain technical material clearly, manage questions and chat, and sustain participation throughout each session. - Adjust pacing and presentation to learner needs while keeping lessons on schedule. - Coordinate with operations staff on delivery details, schedules, and learner support. - Contribute suggestions and edits to lesson materials and curriculum. - Communicate professionally and promptly with learners, staff, contractors, and guest speakers.
Requirements - Strong teaching, training, facilitation, coaching, or onboarding experience, including the ability to explain technical ideas to beginners. - Experience working in a physical data center or a comparable technical environment. - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills. - Patience, empathy, flexibility, and the ability to support adult learners from diverse backgrounds. - Strong preparation habits and a commitment to responsive, respectful learner support. - If prior teaching experience is limited, experience mentoring or supervising is relevant.
Nice to have - A+ or Network+ certification. - Interest in helping learners move into data center operations and infrastructure careers.
