Remote job
Salesforce Commerce Cloud Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview Salesforce Commerce Cloud underpins a large share of enterprise retail, and engineers with deep, production-grade familiarity with the platform are uncommon. This role spans SFCC build work, migrations in either direction, and headless transitions that move brands away from monolithic SFRA storefronts. The position is hands-on, production-oriented, and blends new development with legacy modernization under real merchandising pressure.
Responsibilities - Develop SFRA cartridges and controllers, managing the overlay chain so customizations survive future platform upgrades - Build against OCAPI and SCAPI, including custom endpoints and hooks, while respecting quota and throughput limits - Implement Page Designer components that merchandisers can use without engineering support - Execute storefront migrations onto or off the platform, including catalog, customer, and order data with verified reconciliation - Lead headless transitions using PWA Kit or a custom front end, being candid about what the platform will and will not support - Integrate ERP, OMS, PIM, and tax systems through the job framework and custom services, with retry and alerting that hold up under load - Own site performance and cache strategy, protecting the storefront through peak trading periods - Manage code versions, replication, and release process across sandbox, staging, and production - Debug live incidents in environments where downtime is directly measurable revenue
Requirements - Three or more years building on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, including production launches - Strong SFRA, cartridge architecture, and the ISML and JavaScript controller model - Working command of OCAPI and SCAPI, the job framework, and Business Manager configuration - Direct experience with at least one migration or peak trading season and the platform pain points that come with it
Nice to have - PWA Kit or composable storefront experience - Shopify Plus experience, particularly on migrations between the two platforms - ERP integration background with NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems
