Frontend Engineer, React and Next.js

Role overview This front-end role ships interfaces under brands with real traffic, which makes performance and accessibility acceptance criteria rather than later cleanup. The work spans headless storefronts, client dashboards, and the surfaces that sit on top of agent-driven systems. The bar is what a user experiences on a mid-range phone on a poor connection, not what a demo looks like on a laptop.

Responsibilities - Ship production React and Next.js using the App Router and server components, making deliberate choices about what runs where. - Build headless storefronts against commerce APIs, choosing the rendering strategy per route rather than applying one pattern blindly. - Implement design systems in Tailwind that stay consistent as they grow, avoiding fragmentation into one-off components. - Own Core Web Vitals on the surfaces you build, treating a regression as a defect. - Meet WCAG standards through semantics and keyboard support rather than retrofitted ARIA, and manage bundle size, code splitting, and image strategy. - Integrate typed APIs with real loading, error, and empty states, and build interfaces for streaming and agent-driven features that arrive progressively.

Requirements - Three or more years building production React, with meaningful Next.js experience. - Strong TypeScript and real command of CSS, including layout and Tailwind at scale. - Demonstrated performance work, with a concrete example of a page made measurably faster and how that was proven. - Accessibility built in as part of the work, not left for a checklist after the fact.

Nice to have - Headless commerce experience with Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar. - Svelte or SvelteKit alongside React. - Animation and motion work, particularly GSAP.
