Remote job
Forward Deployed Engineer, Enterprise AI Integrations
Job details
About this role
Role overview This forward-deployed position exists to push enterprise AI projects past the integration layer, where most of them stall. The engineer embeds with the client to map what their systems actually expose, then builds the tool layer, data contracts, and failure handling that let an agent act inside enterprise software without corrupting a record. The work spans platforms like NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP, Workday, and Zendesk, and ends with an operable system the client's on-call team can run.
Responsibilities - Run discovery inside the client environment, auditing APIs, event streams, and batch jobs to surface gaps before they become change orders - Design the tool surface an agent receives over each system, with idempotent writes, explicit confirmation steps for irreversible actions, and compliance-friendly audit trails - Build reconciliation checks that catch drift between an agent's view and the system of record - Deploy into the client's cloud accounts and identity boundary on AWS, GCP, or Azure, using their secrets management, network policy, and logging - Handle rate limits, OAuth token lifecycles, retry budgets, and vendor sandboxes that differ from production - Stand up evaluations and regression runs against sanitized production data, then write runbooks, dashboards, and alert routing the on-call team will rely on overnight
Requirements - Six or more years building integration-heavy backend systems in TypeScript, Python, or Go - At least one LLM or agent system shipped into an enterprise production environment - Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP, Workday, or Zendesk, including their API quirks - Comfort working inside a client's security, identity, and change management process - Strong written communication with stakeholders who do not share your context
Nice to have - Experience with MCP servers, function calling schemas, or agent frameworks in production - Background in professional services, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed engineering - Security or compliance exposure including SOC 2 controls, data residency, and PII handling in LLM pipelines
