Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior product leader is needed to own the vision and roadmap for a universal identity verification initiative that lets users verify once and reuse that verification across an entire consumer product ecosystem. The role focuses on building a reusable identity layer that reduces onboarding friction while balancing privacy, trust, and global regulatory compliance across a globally distributed, remote-first team.
Responsibilities - Define the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a universal KYC platform and a reusable identity product at the centre of a self-custodial financial stack. - Design and ship the underlying identity platform, including scalable verification primitives, standards, and APIs that multiple product teams can adopt. - Build a low-friction user experience that shortens time-to-first-transaction in KYC-gated flows without compromising compliance integrity. - Partner with engineering, design, compliance, legal, risk, and other product teams to drive adoption of a single, consistent identity layer across the platform. - Lead end-to-end execution, aligning cross-functional stakeholders and tracking measurable outcomes such as completion rates, reuse, and transaction success. - Balance user privacy, trust, and regulatory requirements (including KYC, KYB, and CDD) when making product trade-offs.
Requirements - Proven experience building or scaling identity verification, KYC, or onboarding products in a consumer or platform context. - Strong background in fintech, ideally with exposure to Web3, self-custodial wallets, or related decentralized technology domains. - Hands-on experience working with identity verification vendors such as Sumsub, Veriff, Onfido, Persona, or Stripe Identity. - Familiarity with compliance workflows including KYC, KYB, and customer due diligence processes. - Track record of delivering platform products that have been adopted across multiple internal teams or business units. - Ability to operate fluently across both technical systems and user experience design.
Nice to have - A first-principles thinker with strong product judgment and the ability to operate in ambiguity. - Deep user empathy and a focus on reducing friction and cognitive load in verification flows. - Strong understanding of trust, privacy, and compliance trade-offs in identity systems. - Clear, structured communicator who drives alignment and momentum across distributed teams. - High ownership mentality and comfort working in a fast-moving, remote-first startup environment.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, global team structure. - US-based pay range of $130,000–$187,000 USD (excluding bonus, equity, or other benefits); compensation outside the US is determined by location, experience, and skills. - Equal opportunity employer with a stated commitment to diversity and inclusion. - Note: applications from candidates based in France, Italy, or Germany cannot be considered for this role.
