Senior Design Engineer - MetaMask

Role overview A senior design engineering role on a remote-first product team shaping the user experience of one of the most widely used self-custodial crypto wallets. The position sits at the intersection of design and front-end engineering, turning complex Web3 flows into fast, polished, accessible interfaces across mobile and a browser extension.

Responsibilities - Build pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces in React and React Native, with strong attention to interaction details. - Design and implement animations and micro-interactions that make every tap feel considered. - Translate Figma files into production-ready experiences with minimal handoff friction, keeping accessibility and performance in focus. - Build internal tooling and agentic workflows that speed up design-to-code and everyday engineering work. - Contribute to and grow a shared, cross-platform design system of reusable, accessible components. - Prototype rapidly, validate ideas with real users, and push the team's overall bar for craft.

Requirements - Portfolio demonstrating polished, motion-rich interfaces, not only static screens. - Proven track record shipping high-traffic, consumer-facing products in React and React Native. - Fluency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript, plus cross-platform front-end architecture including performance and accessibility. - Strong eye for interaction design and motion, knowing when animation adds value and when it distracts. - High Figma literacy, treating design files like source code. - Comfort working autonomously across a distributed, global team.

Nice to have - Hands-on experience with crypto wallets, blockchain, or related Web3 products.

Benefits and work setup Remote-first, globally distributed team. US-based compensation listed between $149,000 and $210,000, with non-US packages determined during the interview process. Candidates based in France, Italy, or Germany cannot be considered.
