Solution&Fullstack Engineer (Python/Python&Java+ JS) - AI First

Role overview

Build and evolve a cross-asset post-trade banking platform that supports trade matching, settlement, trade blotters, and position reporting. Work across backend and frontend development while owning solutions from requirements and design through implementation and deployment. The team uses an AI-first engineering approach, incorporating coding assistants and automation into day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Python, or Python and Java, with JavaScript and a modern frontend framework. - Build backend services and APIs, and create responsive user interfaces connected to those services. - Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and contribute to architecture decisions. - Design and optimize PostgreSQL structures, queries, indexes, functions, triggers, and views. - Use AI-assisted development tools and explore automation opportunities to improve delivery and code quality. - Prototype ideas, participate in planning, testing, reviews, and technical discussions, and promote maintainable engineering practices.

Requirements

- At least five years of commercial software engineering experience, preferably in full-stack or backend-focused roles. - Strong commercial experience with Python or Python and Java. - Practical JavaScript frontend experience with React, Vue, Angular, or a comparable framework. - Understanding of application architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems. - Strong PostgreSQL skills, including database design and query optimization. - Advanced spoken and written English, experience with AI-assisted coding tools, and familiarity with version control and CI/CD.

Nice to have

- Experience designing solutions from scratch or contributing to architecture decisions.
