About this role

Role overview A backend engineering role on an enterprise experience team, building the features that let large organizations run a self-hosted development infrastructure platform confidently in production. The work spans how the platform scales, upgrades, performs, is observed, is reported on, is audited, and is secured, with end-to-end ownership from design through production rollout.

Responsibilities - Build features end to end, from design through production rollout, following the team's established approach. - Write database migrations that align with team patterns for schema compatibility and safe upgrades. - Build the observability, reporting, and audit features administrators rely on to understand what their deployment is doing. - Implement features that keep enterprise deployments secure, following the team's security practices. - Investigate and resolve scalability bottlenecks under production-like load, from database access patterns to concurrency in the core service. - Triage and resolve backend issues surfaced by operators and administrators, and document features so reviewers and the next engineer can follow the work. - Participate in code reviews, contribute to RFC-style design discussions, and join the on-call rotation.

Requirements - 2+ years of professional software engineering experience. - Professional experience writing and shipping Go in production. - Working understanding of Go's concurrency model, including goroutines, channels, and the sync package. - Comfort with SQL, schema changes, and writing migrations. - Strong verbal and written communication skills, including surfacing blockers and uncertainty early. - Solid debugging skills and the persistence to work a problem through, escalating early when stuck.

Nice to have - Experience investigating performance under real-world load, including debugging race conditions. - Experience with observability, audit, or security features in an enterprise product. - Experience with major cloud providers, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. - Experience building or operating distributed systems at meaningful scale. - Curiosity about the latest developer tooling.

Benefits and work setup - Backend stack of Go, Postgres, Kubernetes, and gRPC; observability with Prometheus and Grafana; CI/CD through GitHub Actions; internal collaboration on GitHub, Slack, Discord, and Notion. - Structured interview process typically completed in two to four weeks, with candidates meeting a mix of individual contributors, managers, and senior leaders. - Permitted AI tooling for take-home assessments, with transparent disclosure of where and how it was used; conversational interviews are conducted without AI assistance.
