Software Engineer

Role overview

A remote, full-time engineering role focused on building the API backbone that connects AI-driven health tech products to electronic health record systems. The position suits a generalist engineer who thrives on ownership, ships quickly, and is comfortable applying AI techniques to messy, real-world healthcare data.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and ship production features across a customer-facing API platform that other companies integrate against. - Develop reliable integrations with complex, legacy healthcare systems and handle the data inconsistencies that come with them. - Apply AI where it meaningfully helps, including data mapping, onboarding automation, and other parts of the stack. - Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring. - Work directly with customers to gather requirements, debug hard issues, and validate that integrations meet clinical needs.

Requirements

- Three or more years of professional software engineering experience. - Track record of building and shipping backend systems that real users depend on in production. - Comfort using AI tools daily, with sound judgment about when an LLM, a classical model, or a simple rule is the right tool. - Ability to operate in ambiguity, figure things out independently, and avoid waiting for a finished spec. - Strong product sense and genuine care about what gets built, not only how.

Nice to have

- Background in developer tools, APIs, or infrastructure products. - Experience taking AI systems from prototype to production. - Prior exposure to the healthcare industry.
