About this role
Role overview
A remote, full-time Systems Engineer is needed to work on the lower layers of a platform that turns bare-metal servers into cloud-like AI infrastructure. The role focuses on Linux virtualization, scheduling, networking, and GPU passthrough, building tooling that makes distributed infrastructure manageable at scale. It is well suited to an engineer who enjoys low-level systems work and hard infrastructure problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop low-level system orchestration code in Rust. - Build tooling around libvirt, KVM, and GPU passthrough. - Make diverse, distributed infrastructure manageable at scale through automation and tooling. - Solve difficult problems in Linux virtualization, scheduling, and network plumbing. - Debug and optimize the network stack and related system components.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Linux internals and virtualization, including KVM, QEMU, and VFIO. - Experience writing systems-level code in Rust, C, or C++. - Familiarity with libvirt, systemd, and network stack debugging. - Comfort working remotely in an engineering team tackling infrastructure at scale.
Nice to have
- Experience with GPU passthrough and cloud infrastructure. - Background in distributed systems or large-scale compute orchestration.
