Founding Senior Software Engineer (Europe – Remote)

Role overview Build and evolve a real-time information platform that processes news, broadcast, podcast, social, and web content across text, audio, and video. As a senior engineer on a small team, you will own product capabilities end to end, shape technical decisions, and deliver improvements to customers quickly.

Responsibilities - Architect and implement core services and product features, making sound decisions across the technology stack. - Put language models and machine learning into practical workflows, including retrieval, embeddings, prompts, agents, and fine-tuned models. - Design systems and data flows that can scale as usage grows while balancing immediate needs with longer-term investment. - Build reliable, secure, performant APIs and internal services that support the product experience. - Work across the engineering lifecycle, from design and implementation through release and iteration based on user feedback.

Requirements - At least three years building and scaling production software, with strong backend fundamentals in services, data models, and distributed systems. - Deeper expertise in at least one relevant area, alongside interest in broadening technical range. - Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and CI/CD; familiarity with AWS or GCP, Docker or Kubernetes, and deployment pipelines. - Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate within a small, fast-moving engineering team. - Motivation to deliver usable work quickly and refine it through feedback.

Nice to have Depth in one or more of these areas: data engineering (such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, BigQuery, streaming, or large-scale ETL); distributed systems (high-volume scaling, fault tolerance, eventual consistency); production AI/ML (LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, fine-tuning, or inference optimization); or backend development with Python, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and high-concurrency services.
