Senior Software Engineer (Typescript / Backend) - AI/ML

Role overview

A fully remote Senior Software Engineer is needed to help shape AI/ML-powered capabilities on a high-performance cloud data platform. The role spans the full stack, bridging inference services and user-facing interfaces so customers can interact with their data through modern AI workflows. The position is open to candidates based anywhere the employer hires across EMEA, with no office-based requirement.

Responsibilities

- Design and ship AI-driven features end to end, from backend inference services through to responsive frontend surfaces inside the cloud product. - Architect and build scalable APIs that connect the database engine with internal and external AI/ML inference systems. - Develop intuitive UI components that make sophisticated AI functionality approachable for users with varied technical backgrounds. - Maintain and extend integrations with the wider AI/ML ecosystem, keeping the platform compatible with popular frameworks and emerging standards. - Take machine learning models into production with appropriate monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation pipelines.

Requirements

- Five or more years of professional software engineering experience in production environments. - Hands-on exposure to AI/ML technologies and their practical applications. - Strong frontend skills with TypeScript, JavaScript, and React. - Backend development experience in TypeScript or Python, with an emphasis on API design and service architecture. - A high ownership mindset, able to drive features from concept through to launch with minimal supervision. - Clear communication skills and comfort collaborating across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

- Background building data-oriented interfaces, dashboards, or visualizations. - Experience integrating and deploying AI/ML models in production, including inference APIs and vector databases. - Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, especially services tied to AI/ML deployment. - Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines; experience with high-performance columnar databases is a strong plus.
