About this role
Role overview
Build and ship user-facing features for an open source developer product, taking work from understanding user needs through product decisions, implementation, documentation, and release. This is an end-to-end product engineering role with broad full-stack work and frequent contact with developers using the software.
Responsibilities
- Speak with users and engage with community questions to understand problems and decide what to build. - Own features from specifications and implementation through documentation, release notes, and launch communication. - Work across a broad stack that includes a React interface, a Next.js backend, analytics data systems, SDKs, documentation, infrastructure modules, and data processing components. - Design and deliver clear APIs, usable interfaces, and supporting documentation. - Share new features publicly and present work to the user community during product launch events.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping user-facing features or products from concept to release. - Strong full-stack engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript and React, and some exposure to data-intensive backends. - Ability to independently manage projects, form a view on what users need, and deliver the solution. - Care for developer experience, including API design, interface details, and clear documentation. - Interest in open source and enthusiasm for discussing developers’ challenges. - Comfort working in a small, accountable team where individual contributions are visible. A computer science or quantitative degree is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with analytics databases, complex data visualizations, or the listed analytical database technology. - Early-stage startup or founder experience, or contributions to widely used open source projects. - Background in machine learning or familiarity with the large language model ecosystem.
