Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

Build and improve the infrastructure and services behind financial products that help customers receive, hold, and move money. This senior engineering role combines hands-on software and API development with technical guidance on reliability, engineering operations, and processes. You’ll also help shape technical strategy in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

- Build and improve software infrastructure, services, and APIs. - Use AWS and languages such as Python and TypeScript to deliver software. - Identify improvements to quality, testing, and other software operations, then develop and carry out plans with senior leaders. - Strengthen engineering workflows and processes to help teams execute effectively. - Engage with software vendors and service providers on technical matters. - Provide strategic direction while staying involved in implementation.

Requirements

- At least five years building highly available, customer-focused software. - Strong technical skills in the MERN stack and experience building on AWS. - Prior experience as a senior software engineer or engineering lead. - Ability to lead technical discussions and execute strategy in a fast-growing, ambiguous setting. - Strong communication, initiative, and motivation to improve processes. - Collaborative approach and ability to support a healthy engineering culture.

Nice to have

- Experience integrating services from external software vendors. - Experience at a technology startup. - Basic technical understanding of banking applications.
