Remote job
GTM Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A venture-backed, mission-driven company operates two distinct go-to-market motions on a single platform: a B2B sales motion with long cycles, multi-stakeholder committees, and named accounts, alongside a high-volume consumer funnel measured in applications, approvals, conversion, and unit economics. It is hiring its first GTM Engineer to own the CRM platform and the surrounding revenue systems, building the funnel architecture, lifecycle automation, scoring, routing, and reporting that connect both motions. The position is engineering-oriented rather than administrative: the focus is on designing dependable systems, clean data flows, and AI-driven workflows that replace manual processes rather than running them well.
Responsibilities
- Own the CRM platform end-to-end across portals: object model, lifecycle stages, properties, associations, pipelines, workflows, forms, integrations, and the contact-tier economics that determine what the company pays at renewal. - Do the unglamorous work well — reconcile duplicate records, retire zombie workflows, audit installed apps for hidden data mutations, and keep consent and deliverability clean. - Define unified funnel stages and revenue metrics that mean the same thing in every system, and enforce pipeline hygiene through automation rather than reminders. - Build enrichment and data waterfalls, signal-based plays, automated research and personalization at the top of funnel, and behavior-triggered lifecycle campaigns; instrument the consumer funnel end-to-end so stalls can be identified and acted on quickly. - Design and maintain API, webhook, and OAuth integrations between the CRM, internal product, and third-party services, with validation, observability, consent management, and clear failure recovery. - Identify where AI meaningfully removes work from the revenue org and build it: enrichment and research agents, deal-desk assistants, and self-serve reporting, working within scoped credentials, audit trails, and kill switches.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on CRM expertise — custom objects and properties, workflows and custom code actions, forms, CMS modules, APIs, association complexity, and marketing contact economics — including having fixed an instance someone else broke. - Comfort rolling out CRM changes on a live revenue team without breaking their reporting. - SQL fluency and the ability to reason about data models, not just run reports. - Working knowledge of REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, data mapping, and reliable synchronization between systems, including what happens when a sync fails. - Enough scripting ability to automate rather than repeat; willingness to close any gaps quickly on the job.
Nice to have
- Warehouse and BI exposure (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, or equivalent). - Applied LLM tooling for enrichment, scoring, research, or revenue analytics, with a grounded view on where it works and where it doesn't. - Lending, fintech, or other high-volume consumer funnel experience. - Consumer funnel work combined with enterprise B2B pipeline work. - Multi-product or multi-motion companies where one revenue vocabulary didn't fit the whole business.
Benefits and work setup
- Competitive cash and equity compensation. - Health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. - Student loan repayment benefits. - 401(k) with employer match. - Flexible PTO. - Base salary range of $155,000 to $185,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
