Role overview This is a senior Technical Program Manager role supporting national security and Department of Defense missions, with work centered on a resilient distributed command-and-control architecture spanning cloud platforms, gateway routing, cross-domain mechanisms, and operational programs of record. The TPM acts as the connective tissue between stakeholders, development teams, and end users, translating mission needs into an outcome-driven roadmap that delivers on time and within scope. The position is remote with on-site travel as needed and requires an active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities - Define and articulate the long-term vision, strategy, and deliverables for the program, aligning them with mission-support objectives and follow-on field-support plans. - Maintain an outcome-driven integrated roadmap and program backlog covering sensor integration, resilient gateway routing, tactical data management, and DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and cloud support. - Communicate the program narrative clearly to audiences ranging from engineering teams to senior executives and commanders. - Make timely, informed decisions on scope, features, and priorities, proactively identifying pain points and driving them to resolution. - Lead and influence a balanced cross-functional team in daily execution against the program vision. - Write clear, detailed user stories with acceptance criteria, manage requirements traceability, and champion user-centered design. - Act as a bridge between stakeholders and developers, anticipating objections and persuading senior audiences when needed. - Oversee release and deployment planning, acceptance testing, feedback handling, risk management, team resource management, and quality management.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Computer Science, or Engineering. - At least 10 years of relevant program or product management experience. - Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and Lean project management principles. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and presentation skills. - Experience leading projects from concept through initial operational capability and full operational capability. - Experience with user-centered design, concept and usability testing, and other research methods. - Experience working in rapid, iterative development environments and balancing customer and user feedback. - U.S. citizenship with eligibility to hold a Common Access Card and an active Secret security clearance.
Nice to have - Knowledge of emerging U.S. Air Force technologies. - Experience shaping program decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops. - Experience designing or developing full-service applications.
