Senior Engineer, Core Products

Role overview

Senior software engineer responsible for taking core product capabilities from early discovery through production operation and measurable business results. The work combines full-stack development, product and technical decision-making, scalable transaction systems, AI-enabled engineering practices, and careful attention to performance, security, observability, and downstream data needs.

Responsibilities

- Partner with product, design, and data stakeholders to define technical direction, challenge assumptions, and evaluate trade-offs before implementation. - Build and deploy product capabilities that use AI models, autonomous agents, or agentic workflows where they improve customer experience or engineering velocity. - Design resilient, low-latency systems that account for scale, telemetry, operational reliability, and the needs of analytical data consumers. - Own features after release by instrumenting key metrics, reviewing dashboards, investigating performance or adoption gaps, and iterating from observed user behavior. - Work across frontend and backend layers while maintaining clean transactional events and dependable integrations with data pipelines. - Communicate technical decisions clearly in writing and in collaborative discussions, and contribute to architecture and product strategy.

Requirements

- Extensive experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade software in cloud-native environments. - Strong product judgment, with a record of prioritizing user and business impact over unnecessary technical complexity. - Experience with event-driven systems, transactional data, analytical pipelines, and performance-sensitive applications. - Comfortable owning full-stack work with React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and Expo or React Native. - Experience with PostgreSQL and AWS; backend experience with Laravel/PHP is useful but equivalent large-scale backend expertise may be considered. - Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development workflows, plus strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

- Experience with fintech, embedded finance, payroll, lending, payments, buy-now-pay-later products, or ACH processing. - Experience mentoring engineers or leading projects toward Staff or Principal-level scope.

- Remote role with occasional travel for planning sessions or team gatherings, typically a few trips per year. - The source lists base salary bands of $124,000–$134,000 for Senior Engineer I and $137,000–$147,000 for Senior Engineer II, alongside equity, benefits, paid family leave, retirement and savings programs, paid time off, and a home-office allowance.
