Role overview
Own backend-focused product features from design through deployment and production support, while contributing to the frontend when a feature requires it. You’ll work in a small, cross-functional team building services and applications for battery lifecycle data and commerce, with an emphasis on dependable delivery and maintainable systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate containerized backend services, APIs, and AWS infrastructure. - Take features from architecture and data modeling through implementation, deployment, and support. - Build frontend functionality in Angular from product requirements and designs. - Develop solutions for service-oriented, distributed, and message-driven systems. - Improve existing applications’ performance, reliability, and maintainability; investigate issues across the stack. - Write automated tests, review code, and work with product, design, and engineering colleagues to shape technical solutions. - Use AI coding tools as part of development, delegating suitable tasks and reviewing generated code carefully.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional software development, with most experience focused on backend work. - Strong PHP and Symfony experience, or professional experience in another backend ecosystem and readiness to work with PHP and Symfony from the start. - In-depth knowledge of REST APIs, message-based systems, microservices, and distributed systems. - Strong experience with relational databases, data modeling, and schema design. - Professional experience implementing frontend features. - Ability to write clear, maintainable code, test it appropriately, and collaborate through code reviews.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI agents, tool or function calling, MCP servers, or agent orchestration. - Familiarity with component libraries, design systems, or frontend performance work. - AWS certifications.
