Staff Software Engineer

Role overview A Staff Software Engineer role focused on reinventing software delivery interfaces for an AI-driven development platform. The position centers on full-stack ownership at scale, partnering with product and engineering leadership to set technical strategy across multiple domains. Work spans greenfield interface design, autonomous pipeline tooling, monetization flows, and foundational web platform pieces, with team placement decided collaboratively based on the candidate's strengths.

Responsibilities - Drive architecture decisions end-to-end across the stack using Go, React, and TypeScript, owning services, APIs, and data models beyond any single codebase. - Define new interfaces and patterns for how developers understand, trust, and act on autonomous build, fix, and release workflows. - Set technical strategy for a domain, balancing debt against velocity and taking ownership when projects span multiple teams. - Translate business goals into engineering tradeoffs in close partnership with product and engineering management. - Lead monitoring and alerting strategy across the domain using Honeycomb, Datadog, and Rollbar to reduce noise and improve diagnosability. - Mentor engineers at scale through documentation, design review, and knowledge-transfer systems that remove single points of failure.

Requirements - 8+ years of production full-stack experience with a track record of shipping systems other engineers build on. - Deep, hands-on capability with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Go on the backend. - Demonstrated AI-native engineering practice, including daily use of AI tools and clarity on where they help or fall short. - Experience owning cross-domain system design and making documented tradeoff calls that other engineers escalate to. - Business acumen that connects a technical domain to product and revenue outcomes. - Track record of technical leadership through reviews, mentorship, and raising the quality bar across teams.

Nice to have - Background defining patterns or platforms where none existed previously, especially around developer tooling or autonomous software systems.
