(Senior) Full Stack Engineer (Backend Focus) (m/f/d)

Role overview

Join a cross-functional loyalty team building the features that turn one-time buyers into repeat customers on a large global marketplace. This is a senior, primarily backend-focused role designing and shipping Java services, while staying hands-on across web and mobile frontends whenever the work demands it.

Responsibilities

- Build and evolve retention-oriented features such as curated collections, wishlists, and user account functionality - Partner with product management and UX to challenge ideas, propose simpler solutions, and own outcomes end-to-end - Design backend services and APIs using Java and Spring, treating production reliability as a first-class concern - Implement the frontend changes a feature needs across web, Android, and iOS when scope calls for it - Use AI-assisted coding tools as part of daily workflow and critique their output with the same rigor as human-authored code - Contribute to open discussions about quality and trade-offs, where good arguments matter more than hierarchy

Requirements

- Substantial hands-on experience with Java and its ecosystem, including testing, CI/CD, and how software runs in production - Familiarity with Spring, Maven or Gradle, SQL databases, and GitLab-based workflows - Comfort building or modifying UI features on at least one platform: web (Vue.js), Android (Jetpack Compose), or iOS (SwiftUI) - Pragmatic engineering mindset that distinguishes "good enough for now" from decisions that create long-term cost - Code that other engineers can read, change, and trust, paired with a willingness to debate ideas openly and commit once a decision is made

Nice to have

- Experience setting up or improving an agentic coding environment - Familiarity with newer Java versions (such as Java 25) and modern build pipelines
