Integrations Engineer

Role overview

Build and operate integrations that connect an assistant to ecommerce, collaboration, automation, and help desk platforms. This role covers the full integration lifecycle: data synchronization, authentication, resilience to unreliable partner APIs, installation experience, documentation, and turning repeated support issues into durable product improvements.

Responsibilities

- Create integrations that bring products, orders, policies, and help content into the assistant. - Own ecommerce connections end to end, including app review processes, maintenance, and platform version upgrades. - Design synchronization workflows that remain safe and useful when partner APIs are slow, rate limited, or temporarily unavailable. - Improve setup and installation documentation, treating confusing configuration steps as product defects. - Investigate recurring integration support problems and address their underlying product or engineering causes. - Debug behavior across external systems whose implementation and availability cannot be directly controlled.

Requirements

- At least three years of production experience integrating third-party APIs. - Hands-on knowledge of OAuth, webhooks, and API rate-limit management. - Familiarity with at least one major ecommerce or help desk platform. - Persistence when partner documentation differs from actual API behavior. - Strong diagnostic skills across multiple services and data boundaries.

Nice to have

- Experience publishing an ecommerce app or completing an app review process. - Experience developing integrations with workflow automation platforms. - Background in data mapping, transformation, or ETL.
