Epic Front End Design Specialist

Role overview

A contract consulting engagement is hiring an Epic Front End Design Specialist to lead design and build activities across Patient Access modules, including Cadence, Prelude, and Cheers. The role combines deep Epic configuration expertise with healthcare operations insight to drive enterprise-wide Patient Access optimization over a six to nine month term. The consultant will function as a senior subject-matter expert, partnering with clinical, operational, revenue cycle, and technical teams to standardize workflows and improve measurable performance.

Responsibilities

- Lead front-end design, build, and configuration for Epic modules spanning Cadence, Prelude, Cheers, and adjacent Patient Access functionality - Facilitate workflow redesign sessions and translate operational requirements into scalable Epic build decisions - Establish and document enterprise standards, build guides, and governance practices for Patient Access applications - Serve as the subject-matter expert across the optimization effort, partnering with clinical, operational, revenue cycle, and technical stakeholders - Drive adoption of redesigned workflows and track quantifiable performance improvement across access metrics - Contribute insight to adjacent initiatives such as infusion center access improvement and Electronic Medical Prior Authorization strategy

Requirements

- Senior-level experience as an Epic consultant or healthcare operations specialist with deep hands-on knowledge of Cadence and Prelude - Demonstrated track record of front-end Epic design and build for Patient Access, scheduling, and registration workflows - Strong understanding of healthcare operations, including patient throughput, scheduling logic, and front-end revenue cycle touchpoints - Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional workflow redesign sessions with clinical, operational, and IT audiences - Experience creating enterprise build standards, documentation, and governance frameworks

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Cheers module configuration - Working knowledge of LeanTaaS implementations within a healthcare environment - Experience supporting infusion center access improvement projects - Exposure to Electronic Medical Prior Authorization strategy and tooling

Benefits and work setup

- Contract engagement of six to nine months - Hourly compensation in the range of $90 to $110, depending on experience and qualifications - Remote work is permitted, with team hubs in Boston, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., and Nashville
