Role overview
A 6 to 7 month contract engagement focused on configuring and refining Epic Beacon functionality for complex oncology programs. The consultant partners with oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and operational teams to turn clinical requirements into safe, scalable treatment plans, then carries the work through build, go-live, and stabilization.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Epic Beacon treatment plans, therapy plans, protocols, and supporting oncology workflows - Configure chemotherapy, immunotherapy, infusion, and supportive care medication pathways, including the components that drive each regimen such as medications, cycles, phases, dosing, scheduling, orders, and clinical documentation - Work with oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and operational leaders to gather requirements and validate clinical workflows against safety and quality expectations - Run unit, integrated, regression, and user acceptance testing, troubleshoot Beacon build issues, and identify solutions for complex oncology scenarios - Coordinate with Willow, Ambulatory, Inpatient, Orders, Cadence, Prelude, and other integrated Epic application teams to keep dependencies aligned - Support data conversion, system upgrades, enhancement requests, go-live preparation, command center activities, and post-go-live stabilization - Maintain build documentation, test scripts, workflow guides, and change-control materials - Mentor client analysts and operational stakeholders on Beacon functionality and oncology best practices
Requirements
- Epic Beacon certification or accreditation - Hands-on Beacon build experience in complex oncology environments - Track record building and maintaining oncology treatment plans and therapy plans - Working knowledge of chemotherapy, infusion, medication management, and broader oncology clinical workflows - Experience with Epic implementations, optimizations, upgrades, or enterprise deployments - Familiarity with Beacon integrations such as Willow and other clinical applications - Experience with testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support
Benefits and work setup
