Senior Software Engineer (Containers)

Role overview

A senior-level engineering position focused on building and shipping new product capabilities for a hardened, secure container image platform. The work is intentionally feature-first rather than maintenance-driven, with substantial cross-functional collaboration to turn ideas into production-ready services. The role pairs hands-on coding with technical leadership, shaping the standards and decisions that affect customer-facing functionality.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and ship new features and services that expand what the core container image product can do for customers - Partner with product, design, and engineering peers to scope, design, and deliver improvements from concept through production - Own technical decisions for the features you build, balancing customer impact, scalability, and long-term maintainability - Develop tools and services that support a growing image build system so it scales alongside new product capabilities - Help set the bar for craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous improvement on the team

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience - 5+ years of software development experience with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, compilers, Makefiles, and toolchains - A product mindset, with genuine interest in shipping features end-to-end and connecting technical choices to customer value - Deep expertise with containers, container registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and the surrounding ecosystem - Hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tools, including designing reusable, well-organized modules - Proficiency writing services or tools in Go - Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work autonomously while proactively seeking help when needed
