Senior SRE - Government Cloud Operations

Role overview Own the reliability and operational readiness of cloud services running in regulated government environments. The work spans production operations, resilient infrastructure, and the ongoing security and compliance practices needed to sustain authorized platforms.

Responsibilities - Operate critical distributed services and improve their availability, performance, scalability, and health. - Build and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure for regulated deployments. - Lead incident response, root cause reviews, remediation, change governance, and disaster recovery exercises. - Apply security controls and configuration baselines across Kubernetes, Linux, container runtimes, and cloud infrastructure. - Support audits and continuous monitoring through evidence gathering, vulnerability management, and configuration tracking. - Automate compliance checks and improve secure delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability.

Requirements - At least 7 years in site reliability, production, cloud operations, or infrastructure engineering. - Experience running regulated cloud environments, such as FedRAMP or DoD impact-level systems, including isolated government cloud deployments. - Experience supporting authorization and post-authorization monitoring, including vulnerability tracking and control assessments. - Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53, remediation timelines, secure configuration, and audit evidence. - Experience with infrastructure as code, GitOps, secure CI/CD, and container hardening. - Practical skill in Python, Go, or Bash, plus Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and Linux/Unix. - Background supporting production SaaS or multi-tenant services and communicating risk to technical and nontechnical groups.

Nice to have - Work with independent assessors or auditors during authorization and monitoring cycles. - Familiarity with STIG implementation, Zero Trust, and secure access systems. - Experience validating resilience and disaster recovery.
