Remote job
Senior Software Engineer | Kimchi (Agent Platform Team)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Join a high-ownership engineering team building the platform that lets organizations run fleets of AI agents securely, whether in the cloud or self-hosted. The work centers on distributed systems that move agent-based workflows confidently from a developer's laptop to production, with security, governance, and observability baked in. This is an end-to-end role covering design, implementation, testing, and rollout, with most feature projects shipping in one to four weeks.
Responsibilities - Design and build distributed systems that orchestrate agent fleets at scale across cloud and self-hosted environments, treating security as a first-class concern. - Make every agent action observable, auditable, and governable through logging, approval workflows, and least-privilege access controls. - Develop a remote-first experience so developers and operators can confidently interact with agents from anywhere. - Collaborate directly with product and other engineering teams on problems that do not have textbook solutions. - Own features end-to-end, from design through production rollout, in a low-process, high-Agency environment.
Requirements - Production experience with Go or TypeScript is strongly preferred; otherwise, demonstrated systems programming skill in a comparable language. - Strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills, including query profiling, index design, and database performance work beyond ORM usage. - Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Kubernetes. - Familiarity with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry, plus modern CI/CD and DevOps practices. - A startup mindset: adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working through ambiguity. - A track record of personally driving a complex project from start to finish, plus strong written and spoken English.
Nice to have - Experience with virtualization, networking, security, and Kubernetes internals.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, globally distributed working environment with flexible hours. - Competitive gross salary in the €6,500–€9,000 range depending on experience, plus equity options. - 10% of work time dedicated to personal projects or self-improvement. - Learning budget for conferences and courses, an annual hackathon, team-building budget, equipment budget, and additional days off to support work-life balance. - Fast-paced workflow where most feature projects complete in one to four weeks. - Hiring process: recruiter screen, hiring manager interview, system design interview, live coding, and a culture conversation with an executive; a background check may run at the final stage.
